Directional geo-test planning tool

A synthetic working example

See the trade-offs before you ask a geo test to answer too much.

Adjust a Superstore-style sales series to explore how volume, daily variation, and the customer timeline change the shape of a test plan.

Try it with a synthetic dataset

This dashboard uses illustrative Superstore-style sales, not your business data. Its signal score is not statistical power and cannot certify a geo-test design. A real feasibility analysis needs historical geo-level outcomes, candidate markets, and a defined intervention.

What can a geo test realistically detect with your data?

It depends on three things in your data. The first is sales volume. The second is how much daily sales bounce around. The third is how long customers take to buy. Low volume and noisy sales make a media effect hard to tell apart from normal ups and downs. A long time to buy means even a tidy read can miss demand that hasn't converted yet. This planner uses made-up sales data, so its signal score isn't statistical power. A real answer needs your own sales history by market.

Synthetic signal score

72/100
More signal to investigate

Higher means this simulated series has more volume relative to its daily variation. It does not estimate the chance of a statistically significant result.

How to read this

A useful planning prompt, not a power calculator.

Lower volume and more erratic daily sales make it harder to separate a media effect from ordinary movement. A longer customer consideration period adds a separate business-time requirement: even a statistically tidy read can miss demand that has not had time to convert.

For upper-funnel tactics, this tool uses 1.5× the stated consideration period as a plain “napkin math” observation horizon. That is intentionally visible and adjustable—not a claim about how every customer responds.
